Expert Ideas for a Healthier Home

The air-con is an essential home appliance that could make you comfortable by cooling the atmosphere. On the other hand, sometimes it is not cooling enough.

There are a few reasons why your air conditioner is not as functional as it should be. To help you troubleshoot your air conditioner, we have listed the following reasons why your aircon is not cooling enough:

1. Clogged air filter

The clogged air filter in an air-con is one of the leading reasons why your aircon has insufficient cooling. The air filter provides clean and fresh air by keeping out the dust and dirt in the atmosphere. Once the air filter was full of dirt and dust, the air will not flow properly in the air conditioner. This thing could limit the cooling capacity of your air conditioner.

Experts advise cleaning the air-con filter every two weeks. You could also replace it if you think it is already needed.

Dirty condenser coil

A clean condenser coil in an air-con removes the heat from the refrigerant. In contrast, if the condenser coil is dirty the heat would not be removed entirely, and this prevents the AC from cooling the entire room, and its power becomes less efficient. So, it is best to clean the condenser coil of your aircon regularly.

Less sufficient coolant

A coolant or a refrigerant is the one that generates cold air in the room. If the refrigerant lines, which are covered with insulation are worn out, your aircon will work inefficiently. The coolant becomes insufficient and your aircon would not cool. It is advisable to call a home appliance repair technician to fix or refill the coolant.

 A defective compressor

A compressor is considered the heart of the air conditioner. It increases the temperature and pressure of the refrigerant, which could cool the room. If your room did not cool, check the compressor of your aircon because it might be defective or not working. In this case, it must be repaired by an AC professional technician immediately.

A defective thermostat or incorrect setting

One crucial component of the aircon is the thermostat, which controls and directs the temperature in the room. Also, it manages the flow of the heat energy in or out of the system. If the thermostat is damaged, there will be no signal that will be sent to the compressor and the aircon will not cool. A thermostat must be set appropriately to have sufficient cold temperatures in a room.

A small AC

The size and the capacity of aircon matters too in cooling a room. If the size of the aircon is small, then it is not sufficient for a big place. You must buy an aircon that is ideal for the size of the room.

Damaged AC fan or blades

The AC fan transmits the heat from inside your house to outside.  Once the fan was damaged, the compressor of the aircon might overheat, and this will make the aircon blow hot air instead of cold air. Likewise, if the blades are damaged, it would end up in a warm atmosphere. To resolve this problem, you must seek help from a certified AC repair technician.

AC is not installed properly

The aircon must are installed correctly or else it could damage some parts of the aircon causing leaks from the refrigerant. This is one factor that the aircon is not cooling. So, you must employ an experienced home appliance technician to reinstall or fix this AC problem.

AC remote is not working properly

Your AC remote could signal the temperature to the aircon. However, if it is defective, it would probably not send any signal then your AC would not release cool air. It is advisable to replace your AC remote with an efficient one. Be sure that it is not damaged.

AC is in direct contact with sunlight

Avoid placing the aircon in direct contact with sunlight. This is because it might affect the cooling process of the AC. It is best to install the AC or its outer part not facing the sun.

Damaged AC parts

Damaged parts of AC such as a capacitor, motor or the condenser may lead to an insufficient cooling of the air conditioner. They may need replacement or repair. With this, you must contact a professional to fix the defective AC parts.

Poor maintenance

An air conditioner must be serviced regularly to keep your room cool. At the same time, it must not be overused so that it will last for a long time or reach its life expectancy. It is therefore essential to have an AC servicing every three months to make your aircon function well.

Encountering any of the above aircon issues may result in an insufficient cooling and uneasiness. It is now time to look for a reliable AC technician that would maintain your air conditioner regularly. Indeed, a well-serviced aircon could last and work properly.
