Don’t Use It – AT ALL!

If any of your appliances was affected by water,in no case should you use it. In fact, the best thing to do is to unplug these right away. But in case of flood and your appliances are still plugged in, you might as well let it be to avoid getting electrocuted.

Remember, it doesn’t matter if you are skilled to repair items. Always refer to a professional and leave your damaged item as it is for now. You might not realize it but your appliances might have faulty wiring and gas line. If you turn these on, it can be dangerous to the entire family.

Evaluate What Happened

It is crucial to identify what exactly happened to your item. Check how long it was submerged in water and take note of visible damages.

Look for the Warranty

Before you ask for a third-party repair services, check for the warranty first. This should save you money if ever your appliance is still covered. Contact them immediately and bring your appliance to the nearest service center. Or perhaps, ask a representative to visit your home.

How much do you need to have it repaired?

Ask the professionals on how much you need to spend for repairs. If it turns out to be almost the same with a brand new item, then choose this option. At least it is safer and it will be under a new warranty.

Is still safe?

If it can be repaired, do you think it is still safe to use after quite some time? There’s nothing wrong with reviving old items. But if it is going to pose a threat, you might want to just dispose it.
