The kitchen is one of the busiest places in the house, where you prepare and cook food for your family. Also, it is probably the accident-prone area. In spite of that, do you know that you can also get first aid solutions from your kitchen?

In one case, you have been hurt in the kitchen or in other areas of your house, you may treat these injuries with the following foods that might be in your refrigerator or pantry. Here are some of them:

1. Honey helps treat wounds

A household product that you can get in your kitchen and can help in healing wounds is honey. This food contains antibacterial and antiseptic properties, which make it efficient in treating wounds. It can treat burns, bacterial infections, skin complaints, pressure ulcers, acne, and dry lips.

In 2007, the U.S. Federal Drug Administration certified Manuka honey as a remedy for injury treatment. Simply, apply a proper measure of honey in the wound evenly. You may also rub or put honey on the dressing wounds and wrap it along the lesion. It will surprise you after a few days your wound is brought around.

Also, a study published in the International Journal of Lower Extremity Wounds indicates that honey can clear infections and the wounds were protected from bacteria. Also, they found that honey can make out and diminish the strong scents from the injuries. Honey also contains anti-inflammatory properties that can treat injuries.

2. Lemon juice for scrapes, small cuts, and nicks

A lemon juice can reduce the nuisance of scrape, small cuts or nicks. Simply, press a lemon in your open wound. Hold up the twist as long as you can tolerate. Then, pat it dry with a white towel. Though it seems painful, it really works, and it will zip up the healing procedure. As well, with its antiseptic and astringent properties, it can protect your cuts from infection and bacteria.

3. Vanilla for minor burns

Yes, vanilla extract can relieve and cool minor burns. Get a cotton and pour a vanilla and then gently dab it on your burned skin. You will observe that your annoyance will be shortened because of the desiccation of the alcohol in the extract.

4. White vinegar for burns

White vinegar has acetic acid that can cut the pain and inflammation of a burned skin. It will also protect your skin from infection because of its antiseptic and astringent properties. Take a paper towel and soak it in vinegar and gently dab your burn. This will soothe your burns and heal in time.

5. Oats for burns

In one case, you are burned by hot oil, you may use oats to bring down your burn inflammation. Take a cup of oats and soak in it bath water for 20 minutes. Then, apply it on your burn skin. This will soothe and relieve your burn skin because of the properties the oats contain. The oats will also reduce the itching in your skin. To intensify the soothing in your skin, you may also apply a baking soda that could also soothe the skin redness.

6. Coconut oil for skin healing

Coconut, particularly its oil is known for its healing properties. This is because it has a great source of vitamin E and fatty acids. Coconut oil also possesses anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties that can protect your burning skin from being tainted. It will also help heal your burn fast. You may as well merge it with lemon juice that can lighten the scar of your burns or injuries.

7. Lavender oil for burns

If you desire to heal your burns quickly, get 1 teaspoon of lavender oil and mix it in 2 ounces of water. Then, place the mix in a misting bottle and spray it onto your burned skin. The lavender oil can ease the pain and heal your burning skin because of its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory attributes.

8. Cayenne pepper for bleeding from cuts and scrapes

Experts said that cayenne pepper can stop the bleeding from small cuts and abrasions. You can pour directly the cayenne pepper onto the little cuts and marks. However, you have to endure this because it is painful.
Cayenne contains capsaicin that produce the heat of the pepper thus making the blood vessels to close. This can reduce the blood loss in small cuts and scrapes.

9. Milk for burns

Some people use milk for soothing and healing burns. The protein and fat in the milk are responsible for the healing of burns. You may give or pour the milk onto the burned skin for approximately 15 minutes. This will relieve right away your wounds. You may also use whole-milk yogurt and full-fat milk that can cool and relieve your burns.

10. Raw potato for minor burns

A raw potato can also heal minor burns. Simply, slice a raw potato and apply it onto the burned skin. It will comfort and relieve the burns. This is because a potato has antibacterial properties. Also, the potato peelings can also be used as dressing to accelerate up the healing of injuries.

These first aid solutions that you can get directly into your kitchen can provide quick relief. Never miss them in your pantry, refrigerator, or on your kitchen counter top. It will keep you protected from untoward injuries and make your home accident-proof.
