Make a New Jar Set by Painting the Lids
You don’t have to buy a new jar set for your cream and sugar. What you can do is to keep old food jars. It do not need to be the same containers. In fact, we recommend different sizes and looks to have a unique ‘set’. Next, paint the lids using one color or pattern and there you go! It’s an instant jar set for a price of less than a dollar.
Decorate Your Old Teapot
Do you have a plain teapot that you want to throw away? Hold that thought for now. Instead of putting it to trash, why not try to test your painting and decorating skills? If you are scared to use brush and you feel that you will just smudge the paint, you can try the ‘toothpick’ technique and create cute designs onto your teapot. Start small and then go big if you already feel that you can handle it. Imagine, you’re the only person in the entire universe to have that kind of teapot. Sweet, isn’t it?
Add Color To Your Wooden Spoons
Here’s another very easy DIY project that you can do in less than 30 minutes. Get your wooden spoons and add some character to it. Of course, we do not recommend that you paint the entire thing. We just want you to decorate the handle using paint. You can do a solid design, or you can be more intricate depending on your taste.
Turn Your Mason Jars to Soap Dispensers
Who doesn’t love mason jars? They already have their own character that can instantly improve the look of your kitchen. However, there’s a DIY project for your mason jars. Have you every considered making it a soap dispenser?
The first step is to remove the pump of the actual liquid soap container. Make a hole on the lid of your mason jar that will fit the pump. The hole will definitely look odd but that’s fine. Just add glue on the underside of the lid and let it dry. Paint the lid, place the pump, and you are done!
Beautify Your Shelves with Washi Tape
If you have done previous DIY projects, then you know that washi tape is already a must have. Give your kitchen shelves a different look by putting washi tapes. This is definitely easy and even your kids can do it. Speaking of which, you can find more DIY activities you can do with your kids from one of our posts.
Most likely the ideas above already gave you a head start on what to do. We’re pretty sure you can think of more so let’s start being creative.
